For administrators, liquidators & IPs

Before dissolution, consider the knowledge left behind.

We help practitioners assess whether operational data could be an asset worth exploring, without treating sensitive records as ready for sale.

A route for suitable estates

micro1’s Defunct Company Data Partnership typically looks for companies with 30+ employees, substantial Microsoft Teams or Slack data and English-language material. The published country scope includes the UK. Eligibility and acceptance remain subject to micro1’s assessment.

micro1 publishes a range of $100K–$2M+; offers depend on data volume and quality and micro1 approval. This is company compensation in US dollars, not a valuation or guaranteed payout.

Begin with authority and preservation

  • Confirm the appointment’s scope, control of the records and authority to explore licensing or transfer.
  • Identify rights belonging to employees, customers, suppliers and third parties; possession is not proof of transferable rights.
  • Discuss retention, access continuity and preservation with the appropriate advisers before systems are closed.
  • Set boundaries around privileged, confidential and special-category material. Do not send us raw estate data.

What an initial assessment needs

01

The company context

Sector, approximate historic headcount, operating period, jurisdiction and appointment stage.

02

The systems landscape

Which collaboration tools exist, approximate archive size, language and whether access can be maintained.

03

The decision route

Who can authorise an introduction, who advises on privacy and what timetable the estate faces.

A practical next step

We can help frame questions for your legal and privacy advisers and coordinate a suitable introduction. We do not provide a formal asset valuation, legal opinion or a promise of recovery.
